When Sajid Masih left work on 29 May 2026, his wife, Anita, expected him to return home as he always did. Instead, he disappeared without a trace, leaving his family searching for answers and fearing for his safety.
Sajid, a ward boy at Allied Hospital in Faisalabad, was reportedly last seen after leaving work to meet a man with whom he had an ongoing financial dispute. Since then, neither his family nor the authorities have been able to determine his whereabouts.
According to Anita, the dispute began after her family borrowed PKR 765,000 from a retired soldier and landlord. She alleges that although the loan was repaid in full, signed blank documents and cheques were never returned and were later used in an attempt to demand additional money. Anita believes her husband disappeared after refusing those demands. These allegations are based on her account and remain subject to police investigation and judicial proceedings.
Following Sajid’s disappearance, Anita reported the matter to the police and later submitted a complaint to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) in Faisalabad. She alleges that no effective investigation was carried out and that she was instead asked to obtain CCTV footage herself. When her efforts failed to produce any progress, she instructed a private lawyer, who filed a petition seeking the registration of a First Information Report (FIR). The case is currently pending before the Additional Sessions Judge in Faisalabad.
